Are you surrounded by YES men or women, in your company?

I refer to this as The “YES, BOSS” culture.

A Yes Man/Woman is a person who will say YES and agrees to everything you say to avoid conflict.

Now, how do you as a business owner and boss feel about someone like that?

Let me share with you what I feel about this “Yes, Boss Culture”.

Saying “yes” to every task or agreeing with the boss while quietly seething with frustration create a huge wall between the boss and the team and is not good for the company.

As a leader, how do you know when your team says Yes, it really means Yes or they are just keeping quiet about the issue?

I have been using this behavioural assessment (AccuMatch Behavioral Assessment) in my company to understand my team better.

This assessment is very useful in helping me recognise what drives the performance and productivity of every employee.

I get to know which person in my team is a Yes Man/Woman. Is the person who says YES all the time is biting off more than he or she can chew? Is that the reason why he or she has the habit of completing their tasks at the very last minute?

It is crucial to know in advance that you had this sort of person in the company. That person might be a good team member but because of the constant YES in taking up additional work, he or she is bottling up his or her frustration and eventually leaves the company.

Not only that, AccuMatch Behavioral Assessment also helps to measure the business owners and their team’s personalitiesbehavioral stylesmotivationsinterests, and values. I get to read how my team and I are working with each other. How do we complement one another and how to get the most out of our individual interests and skills.

We all like to be liked but some more than the other. It is not a surprise we would rather be surrounded by people who agree with or are nice to us all the time. Who doesn’t?

However, if we find that our team follows our every order without question and we get what we want when we want it (sounds good isn’t it), it’s time to review the way we communicate. That might not even be good news after all.

If you like to find out more about AccuMatch Behavior Assessment, feel free to write to me at [email protected]. I will explain to you further on this tool that will change the way you manage your employees.

Till then, take care and remember “Being in Business is about having more Life”.
